Ford & Mercury Recall
FORD has announced a recall for certain Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles after an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A total of 128,616 2010 and 2011 models equipped with steel wheels may have been manufactured with wheel studs that could crack and split over time. If that happens, the vehicle may experience a wheel separation. Mounting pads on the vehicles' steel wheels may have been faulty from the factory. In addition, the wheel mounting face on rear disc brakes may not have been installed properly. Ford will inspect the rear disc face and replace them as necessary. In addition, the company will replace all of the vehicle's wheel studs free of charge.

I can't drive 55
A man who filmed the speedometer of his car while driving more than 140 miles per hour so he could post it on YouTube, ended up in jail on Saturday. Stanislav Vadimovich Bakanov was pulled over by police on Oregon Interstate 5 after he was clocked driving his black 2005 BMW at 118 mph. He filmed Sheriff's Deputy as he approached the car. When he asked why he was videotaping, Bakanov said he was filming his speedometer, and his arrest, to post on Youtube. (Now that's FUDJULATED) The video later revealed that Bakanov had attained speeds in excess of 140 mph. He was arrested and charged with reckless driving and speeding. It was his third speeding incident in the past year. The video was confiscated and will be used as evidence against him.Saturday, December 3, 2011
Honda & Acura Air Bag Recall
Honda Motor Co. plans to recall another 273,000 Honda and Acura vehicles because of an air bag problem that can kill drivers. It also will inspect an additional 603,000 vehicles to see whether the same defective parts were used in repairing autos that have been in accidents. Honda said it doesn't know how many of those vehicles might have been repaired with the defective parts. In the recalled vehicles, from the 2001 through 2003 model years, the driver's side air bag can deploy with too much force in an accident, causing a metal part that holds and channels explosive propellant to rupture that are causing the injuries. 18 injuries and two deaths have been caused by these faulty air bags. Honda has had four previous recalls over the same issue, and the latest recall raised the total to more than 2.5 million vehicles in the U.S. The latest recall now includes certain 2001 and 2002 Accord, 2001 through 2003 Civic, 2001 through 2003 Odyssey, 2002 and 2003 CR-V, 2003 Pilot, 2002 and 2003 Acura 3.2 TL and 2003 Acura 3.2 CL vehicles. For more information, Honda owners can go to http://www.recalls.honda.com or call (800) 999-1009 and select option 4; Acura owners can go to http://www.recalls.acura.com or call (800) 382-2238 and select option 4.

FIRE!
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a formal safety investigation into fire dangers of the Volt. This move came after the agency replicated an incident from last May in which a Volt battery caught fire three weeks after going through a safety crash test. In three tests last week, technicians damaged the Volt batteries in a similar way; one battery caught fire, and two showed signs of overheating. NHTSA said it had no reports of fires from real-world crashes. And the agency said in a statement: "NHTSA continues to believe that electric vehicles have incredible potential to save consumers money at the pump, help protect the environment, create jobs and strengthen national security by reducing our dependence on foreign oil." General Motors said in a statement it was working with NHTSA on additional testing and also was monitoring all the Volts on the road. With its OnStar emergency communications system, the company said it "knows in real time about any crash significant enough to potentially compromise battery integrity."
NHTSA offered some advice for current owners of electric cars involved in accidents. Exit the vehicle carefully if possible just as in a gasoline-powered car, which of course also poses fire danger in a crash. Emergency responders should take note if a vehicle is electric and disconnect the battery pack if possible. Tow-truck operators and salvage yards should store damaged electrics outside, not inside a closed building. All fires in the NHTSA tests ignited weeks after the initial damage.

Camaro ZL1
Chevrolet chose to resurrect the Monster of all Camaro's the ZL-1. Chevrolet is estimating that its supercharged and intercooled 6.2-liter LSA V8 engine will put out around 550 horsepower and 550 pound-feet of torque. That power will be sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transmission using a dual-disc clutch that's necessary to properly harness all those horses. There's also a dual-mode exhaust system that alters the sound level and character in response to engine rpm. Chevy's goal was to build a Camaro intended to reach optimal lap times on top road-racing circuits and excellent driving dynamics on the street. The 2012 Camaro ZL1 will be fitted with a new electric power steering system and Magnetic Ride Control that will offer both Tour and Sport modes. Brembo brakes measuring 14.6-inch in the front (with six-piston calipers) and 14.4-inch at the rear (with four-piston calipers) bring it all back down from speed.there's an updated body kit to differentiate the ZL1 from other Camaro's. Most notable are the redesigned fascia that features a front splitter, vertical fog lamps and air intakes designed for brake cooling. There's also a new aluminum hood with a raised, satin black-finish carbon fiber insert that uses a unique air extractor that is said to increase downforce by directing oncoming air over the car. There's also a spoiler at the rear of the car and new 20-inch aluminum wheels fitted with specially developed Goodyear Supercar F2 tires.Chevrolet promises to have the Camaro ZL1 on dealer lots in the beginning of 2012, and it will be available in any color offered on the Camaro.

What is BIODIESEL ?
WHAT IS BIODIESEL ?Biodiesel is the name of a clean burning alternative fuel, produced from domestic, renewable resources. Biodiesel contains no petroleum, but it can be blended at any level with petroleum diesel to create a biodiesel blend. It can be used in compression-ignition (diesel) engines with little or no modifications. Biodiesel is simple to use, biodegradable, nontoxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics.Biodiesel is produced from any fat or oil such as soybean oil, through a refinery process called transesterification. This process is a reaction of the oil with an alcohol to remove the glycerin, which is a by-product of biodiesel production. Fuel-grade biodiesel must be produced to strict industry specifications (ASTM D6751) in order to insure proper performance. Raw vegetable oil cannot meet biodiesel fuel specifications, it is not registered with the EPA, and it is not a legal motor fuel. Biodiesel is defined as mono-alkyl esters of long chain fatty acids derived from vegetable oils or animal fats which conform to ASTM D6751 specifications for use in diesel engines. Biodiesel refers to the pure fuel before blending with diesel fuel. Biodiesel blends are denoted as, "BXX" with "XX" representing the percentage of biodiesel contained in the blend (ie: B20 is 20% biodiesel, 80% petroleum diesel).Biodiesel can be operated in any diesel engine with little or no modification to the engine or the fuel system. Biodiesel has a solvent effect that may release deposits accumulated on tank walls and pipes from previous diesel fuel storage. The release of deposits may clog filters initially and precautions should be taken. Ensure that only fuel meeting the biodiesel specification is used.

Lamborghini Aventador
Lamborghini "AVENTADOR" bears the name of a bull -- naturally, a particularly courageous specimen from the world of the Spanish Corrida. Aventador was a bull bred by the Don Celestino Cuardi Vides family that in October 1993 entered into battle at the Saragossa Arena, earning the "Trofeo de la Peña La Madroñera" for the outstanding courage shown during the fight.
The Lamborghini Aventador will look like a replica of the Lamborghini Reventón. It'll even use the Reventón's 6.5-liter V12 engine and produce 700 HP. This Raging Bull is said to go 0-to-62 time in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 217 MPH.

BMW 650i Coupe
BMW 2012 650i Coupe. A 4.4-liter V8 twinturbo with 400 horsepower and 450 lb-ft of torque. The 650i Coupe comes with an eight-speed “Sport”automatic transmission, or a six-speed transmission. the 650i Coupe will do 0 to 60 mph in 4.8 seconds, regardless of transmission choice. And a top speed of 155 mph. Technology is the 650i, including many technologies that fall into the ConnectedDrive system. The Driver Assistance Package will add automatic high beams, lane departure warning, active blind spot detection, rear and top view cameras, parking assistant and the aforementioned Head-Up Display. LEDs, or light emitting diodes, are a popular new type of light which are often praised for their incredibly low power consumption and long service life. For the 2012 650i, BMW has employed adaptive Xenon headlights as standard which help give the car a truly unique appearance. The 650i has you covered thanks to Rear-view, Top View and Side View cameras. The cameras are part of the Park Distance Control system, which utilizes ultrasonic sensors in order to determine the distance between the car and other objects either in front of, or behind the car. In conjunction with the audible warning from the sensors, BMW also fitted a rear-view camera in the trunklid, allowing the driver to see exactly what is approaching from behind the vehicle while reversing.Expect to find standard front and head-thorax side airbags built into the seats, as well as an alphabet soup collection of safety technologies ranging from ABS (Anti-lock Brakes), to DST (Dynamic Stability Control), to DTC (Dynamic Traction Control), CBC (Cornering Brake Control), DBC (Dynamic Brake Control) and plenty more.
