NASCAR news

NASCAR’s minor league series is now called the NASCAR XFINITY Series starting this 2015 racing season. The series started as the Budweiser Late Model Sportsman Series in 1982. From 1984 – 2003 the NASCAR Busch Grand National Series. 2004 –  2007  the NASCAR Busch Series. 2008 – 2014 the NASCAR Nationwide series. Most races are held on Saturday the day before the NASCAR sprint cup race at the same track trying to get fans to attend both races. Last year’s Champion and Rookie of the year 19 year old Chase Elliott will be a full time NASCAR Sprint Cup driver filling the seat of Jeff Gordon at Rick Hendrick Motorsports after Jeff Gordon retires after this season.
